Workshops for 2012

A series of 'Hands on' afternoon courses, for anyone interested in gardening.

Each afternoon session costs £10, includes refreshments, and the opportunity to buy anything you create at greatly discounted prices.

A minimum of 10 people is required for these events to be viable so please register your interest at least 7 days beforehand.

1) Try your hand at some basic woodworking, make a raised bed for your garden, or some staging for your greenhouse, or a compost bin.

Date: Sunday 11th March 2pm-4pm

2) Planning a garden, where to start, things to consider, ideas and solutions.

3) Seed sowing, and some basic propagation techniques.

Date: Sunday 25th March 2pm-4pm

4) Bedding plants, creating colourful hanging baskets and containers.

Date: Sunday 6th May 2pm-4pm

5) Problem areas in a garden, how to best deal with them and plants that may be suitable to grow in those areas.

6) Using plants to screen your garden. Hedges and Fedges, and the best plants to choose.

7) Ponds. Different types of pond, how to create a pond, things to consider.

8) Plants to include in your garden for wildlife, and to provide year round interest.

9) Planting containers for Autumn/Winter and early Spring colour.

10) Pruning, cutting back and tidying up with confidence!
